The french documentary film "Sur le chemin de l'école" (On the way to school) created by Pascal Plisson had a tremendous success in France and abroad. It shows what "going to school" means for four children living in Morocco, Kenya, Argentina and India. It is a fantastic educational tool. Yves sent us the DVD to show it to our students. Although in french, it has english subtitles and the stories it depicts speak for themselves. Not only does the film show the difficulties encountered by the students during their daily journey to school but it also shows the determination of these children and therefore their conscience that being educated is something not to be missed whatever the difficulties are. A spontaneous discussion took place after this event. The students were so enthusiastic that they have been invited to report their emotions, their empathy and their awareness through writings and drawings. These testimonies were then collected and compiled in the following book.
